OUGD503 SECRET 7" - EVALUATION
Secret 7" this year has been a really rewarding brief for me, as with it being completely free what you produce as long as it's 7x7inch and relates to one of the tracks, this gave me the opportunity to experiment with more practical techniques such as watercolour and inks, as well as photography. This resulted in a lot of creative freedom and me really enjoying experimenting and listening to the tracks and trying out ideas much more freely. I wanted to go for a more abstract, ambiguous approach in my designs, so you can't really tell what track they're for, as last year I didn't and my designs didn't get in, and visiting the exhibition a lot of the winning entries were a little weird and abstract, so I thought perhaps this was the way to increase my chances. I feel well with how I progressed with the brief, in that I didn't linger too long on it, as there wasn't the depth required in it that other briefs required.
