Critiques with the level 4 students was really useful as it they had a fresh new perspective on our work, and hadn't seen it beforehand as well, so what they saw was all really that they knew.
Secret 7 feedback:
Thought the water colour designs were finalised, they didn't need any more development, however on the wind and woman one, they didn't notice that there was women on there, so maybe these should be made bigger and more recognisable as women.
They also thought that the heart and moon vectorised design was their most preferred , and that producing it using paper cut could be interesting.
Fever Tree feedback:
The repeat pattern could be an easier option as there isn't any template for the pattern to fit within, such as bottle dimensions and where exactly the label will sit within the bottle either.
It was also commented that with a repeat pattern will be easier to see with the label taking up a large amount of space on the bottle, whereas if a large print of only one illustration was used, then you might not see a lot of the illustration, and it'll just get lost within the label.
It was raised that perhaps the concept for the pattern should be refined, and then maybe simplify it down and this will in turn simplify the illustrations and content of the pattern.
Next stages:
Make the final changes to the watercolour designs, making the women larger and produce the accompanying text ready for submission. Produce the heart and moon design using paper cut, perhaps print the different elements onto one piece of paper, then cut each out and paint the desired colours, which may be easier than trying to find the right coloured stock itself.
