Bangladesh initial imagery
Images that will be used to base the sketches and patterns on.
Initial sketches
Free hand sketch. The trees look far too scrappy in comparison to the building. |
Trace of the photograph, which is much more accurate. There is a lot of detail however. |
Mid section of the above sketch image traced with colour applied. |
Full building image traced with colour added. |
Multiplied into a pattern. When on a small scale the black outline can be seen really strongly, and takes away from the detail of the illustration and the colours as well. |
Different coloured background? |
China initial imagery
Initial sketches inspired by the great wall of china. Taking a more graphic approach to make the wall more simple, and to work better as a pattern. |
India initial imagery
Initial sketch. |
Colours both realistic and taken from the colours of the Indian flag. |
The woman has been repeated several times on different background colours to see which works best, however, I feel as though the background colours, although relevant to the colour of the flag, makes the whole design look far too pastelly and vague.
Indonesia initial imagery
Working directly from the images has been really useful to ensure that the illustrations directly relate back to them, and will make the illustrations much more recognisable to the countries they relate to.
